Advocacy
CFUW encourages its members to use their expertise to bring about change, with particular reference to women’s issues such as violence against women, early learning and child care, education, economic prosperity and the empowerment of women as leaders and decision-makers. CFUW also works on a global level for the adoption and implementation of international agreements that will protect and benefit all women and girls.
Take Action
You don’t have to be a front line worker to take action on big issues important to women and Canadians. There are many ways that you can contribute to the wellbeing of Canadians and promote equality, social justice, fellowship and life-long learning for women and girls. You can become an advocate for women’s rights: in your community, by supporting organizations and campaigns, and urging leaders to take action!

Community Engagement
CFUW demonstrates that women working together can be a powerful source of change. Our network of clubs across Canada are working within their local communities to help build a more equitable world for women and girls. Ultimately, we envision a world where poverty is reduced, discrimination and violence eliminated, where women and girls are fully able to realize their potential through equal opportunities for education, leadership and employment.
Our initiatives are wide-ranging from our vibrant network of creative, dynamic and committed women. We offer lifelong learning opportunities for our own members. We engage governments at the municipal, provincial and federal levels in Canada. Our advocacy campaigns focus on social and economic issues affecting women’s quality of life and career prospects.
CFUW Clubs work with local educational institutions, women’s shelters, harm and risk reduction organizations and other community groups on specific projects and fund-raising initiatives. Our clubs administer local scholarship and bursary programs to advance women and girls access to education. CFUW is committed to connecting women in their communities to advance gender equality.
National Priorities
CFUW encourages its members to use their expertise to bring about change, with particular reference to our national priorities on violence against women and girls, Indigenous peoples’ rights, early learning and child care, long-term care, and climate change.
