International Action

CFUW has a long tradition of advocating for the education, equality, and wellbeing of women and girls worldwide. We monitor and report to United Nations Committees and Commissions on the human rights situation of women and girls in Canada and across the world. We engage in advocacy campaigns to encourage the Canadian Government to fully meet their human rights obligations under various United Nations Conventions and agreements. Some of the key Conventions and agreements we monitor include the Beijing Platform for Action and the Convention of the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women.
