April 11, 2018 - Great success for CFUW at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW62) in New York! CFUW actively engaged with the Commission's Priority theme: "Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls". Our delegates also created meaningful connections and engaged in several discussions focusing on advancing gender equality with non-government organizations (NGO), government and partners. Brief on Bill C-65
An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (harassment and violence)

March 12, 2018 – The Canadian Federation of University Women submitted a brief to the House of Commons on Bill C-65, a bill tackling the issue of harassment and violence in federally regulated workplaces. CFUW raised four concerns to strengthened Bill C-65: 1) addressing the fear for reprisal and financial barriers to reporting, 2) creating an organizational and cultural shift, 3) ensuring adequate funding and human resources for training and 4) adopting comprehensive definitions of harassment and violence.
